Percy John Kelly was the son of Police Sergeant George Kelly and Emily Kelly (nee Dando) who had married in Melbourne, Australia, in 1870. He served during the Anglo Boer War (1899-1902). Percy worked as a Commercial Traveller. During World War I, Percy became ill whilst serving at Gallipoli. He died of pneumonia at the No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital at Mudros and was buried in the Portianos Military Cemetery.
