Petros Fyssoun

Petros Fyssoun (October 5, 1933 - December 5, 2016) was a Greek actor and director. Born on October 5, 1933 in Russia (other sources mentioned in Agrinio), son of refugees from Russia who settled in Greece after the Russian revolution. He graduated from the Drama Art Theatre School in 1954. Until 1956 worked with Karolos Koun Art Theatre. He was a protagonist of the National Theatre in the period 1961-1965 and then also at the State Theater of Northern Greece 1976-1978. In theatrical scene interpreted almost all kinds of theater, drama, comedy, tragedy and inspection. He participated in the Cannes Film Festival (1965), Moscow and then Leningrad (1966), Athens, Philippi and in Epidaurus. There was a theater impresario and businessman and member of the Consumer Institute. He received many awards such as Actor in the Greek Film Festival 1963 and 1964 and with Actor Award at Ithaca Theatre Festival 1975. It was a permanent resident of Athens (Hoidas Street) spoke English, Russian and Swedish. Brother, also the actor Costas Fyssoun. Peter Fyssoun died at the age of 83 from respiratory infection in hospital "Sotiria" in Athens, on Monday, 5 December 2016
