Romanian Politican. He served as the President of the Council of Ministers from March 6, 1945 to June 2, 1952. He also served as the President of the Presidium of the Great National Assembly from June 12, 1952 to January 7, 1958. He graduated from the Hungarian Reformed High School in Orastle in 1903. Later, he studied at both the University of Budapest and University of Berlin, before earning his doctorate at the University of Leipzig in 1907. He went into law practice before serving in the Austro-Hungarian military during the World War I. After the war, he joined the political scene as a member of the Romanian National Party (RNP). From 1926 to 1927, he served as both Minister of State and Public Works in the Romanian government. In 1933, he founded a peasant-based political organization known as the Ploughmen's Front.
