IN LOVING MEMORY SON OF RALPH & LATE CHARLOTTE LEYLAND

Son of Ralph Leyland and the late Charlotte Leyland. A school teacher prior to enlisting in the Australian Imperial Force, he embarked with the 2nd Reinforcements to the 5th Battalion on 5 November 1914. He died of illness in the 16th Stationary Hospital, Mudros, Greece, aged 27 years. Lance Sergeant, 5th Battalion, Australian Infantry, A.I.F. - Service No. 1334
