Killed whilst flying in a Nieuport bi-plane, failed to return from photo recon sortie of the Orfano Valley, Macedonia, fell from 1000 feet, he was also accompanied by 2nd Lieutenant Arnold Clement Panting RFC, also interred in the Mikra British Cemetery, at Kalamaria, Regional unit of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece.
