Rešid “Šido” Boloban

Rešid “Šido” Boloban

1962 – 1992

In memoriam

Samo da sjećanje ne izgubi moć govora So the memory doesn't lose the power of speech

Rešid joined the defense of his homeland in early April 1992 as a member of the "KLIS" unit. He was a good locksmith, but also an ambitious man who never had enough knowledge. That is why he continued his education with a job in order to become a train dispatcher. The war found him at that job at the Konjic railway station. Rešid also lived in his native village Treboj, with his father Alija and mother Kada, brother Redžo and sisters Zlatka, Mirsada, Remza and Mirhada, with his wife Fatima and two sons Armin and Adnan. He left them in the company of good neighbors and friends, as he himself was, and set out on a not at all certain path to freedom. Among the comrades of the "Green Berets" "KLIS" and later the Army of RBiH, Rešid Boloban was respected as an outstanding fighter and volunteer in every action for which volunteers were sought. He did not spare himself, and he asked the same of others. He died from gunshot wounds received in one of the countless battles for the unblocking of Sarajevo, on February 6, 1993, near the city, on the slopes of Trebević.

Leave a thought, a memory, a prayer…
