Rifat Bilajac

In memoriam

Rifat Bilajac was born in Bosanska Dubica in 1936. After leaving the former JNA, he joined the work of the Main Staff of the Patriotic League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which he moved to the General Staff of the RBiH Army. Although he was retired before the war, he joined the defense of BiH as a volunteer. With his knowledge and expertise, he participated in the drafting of the directive for the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He always held high and responsible positions in the RBiH Army, because he was considered a great military expert in strategy and planning, and especially in operational planning and operations carried out by fighters. General Bilajac died on May 12, 2006. Having completed the Military Academy, the Higher Political School, the School of National Defense, and the Higher Military Academy, he was one of the most educated military personnel, both in the former state and in independent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
