Robert was born in 1918, the son of William and Frieda Emilie Summerfield. A Private with the Australian Infantry, A.I.F. 2/11 Bn. Service Number: WX492 Casualty of War: Robert was Killed in Action, Crete, Crete, Greece, 20 May 1941, aged 23 years. The remains of Robert were buried at Suda Bay Military Cemetery on 20.5.1941 - then reburied at Suda Bay War Cemetery on 7.9.1945. Memorials: Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour.
