Saja

In memoriam
Saja Ćorić was the victim of several months of torture in the Vojno camp near Mostar, one of the most infamous in the so-called system "Herceg-Bosna", but also the least known. Until her last breath, she fought for the truth, even when she was aware that justice would not be complete. The association she led took care of victims of rape and other forms of wartime abuse of women. She was one of the key witnesses of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the indescribable crimes committed in Vojno near Mostar, but also in other domestic and international courts. She testified, as recorded in the book Witnesses of Evil, that 800 people passed through the Vojno camp. Of that number, between 15 and 30 lost their lives in the aforementioned camp. This camp was specific because about 80 women and children were detained and tortured in various ways. The guards of the Vojno camp played a major role in the crimes committed. The above-mentioned Marko Radić, Dragan Šunjić, Damir Brekalo and Mirko Vračević were sentenced by the final judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were found guilty of persecution, murder, imprisonment, rape, torture and other inhuman acts committed against Bosniaks in the Vojno camp, and were sentenced to a total of 69 years in prison. Radić was sentenced to 21 years, Šunjić to 16, Vračević to 12 years, Brekalo, who was of Bosniak origin and was called Emir until the war, to 20 years in prison! Mario Mihalj, who is believed to have died, Ivek Kolobara, Jure Kordić, Nedžad Čorić, Amel Hadžiosmanović and Nedžad Tinjak, all HVO fighters, were mentioned in the indictment against "Radić and others" as perpetrators of certain crimes in the Vojno camp. According to the witnesses, Mihalj was the warden, and Šunjić was the deputy warden of the camp, while Marko Radić was, in fact, mentioned "as the head". According to the testimony of one witness, 15 children and 21 women were detained in the room where she stayed for 109 days, and they were taken to be raped every day. The youngest child detained in the camp was only eight months old, and the oldest woman was about 85 years old! "The crimes in the Vojno camp were so monstrous that even people were buried alive, and dozens of women were sexually abused in Vojno," said Saja Ćorić, who herself testified in the proceedings against the criminals in the "Radić et al" case. In September 2015, Saja Ćorić's car was set on fire in Potoci near Mostar. A big blow for Saja was the fact that, despite the final verdict, the convicted war criminal Marko Maka Radić was released in December last year, and that today he lives freely in Croatia. Let us remind you that after a long and thorough trial in BiH in 2011, Radić was legally sentenced to 21 years in prison for crimes against humanity, i.e. torture, imprisonment, murder and rape in the infamous Vojno camp near Mostar, and was to be released from prison only in 2027. She bore witness to the truth It was released even eight years earlier. Radić has to thank BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša, an official of HDZ BiH, for his freedom. He approved Radić's transfer to Croatia on October 8, 2018. After the decision of the Zagreb County Court, the sentence was reduced from 21 to 12 and a half years in prison, and after only two months in prison in Croatia, Radić became a completely free man! Instead of answering to the public and the victims, Grubeša was also rewarded for this 'operation'. With a new mandate at the head of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina! So much for justice in BiH! None of the pro-Bosnian political factors opposed it. "It was with regret that I received the news of your premature death. A severe illness stopped your long-term activists in the fight for the truth and condemnation of the terrible crime against women, girls, children, Bosniaks. You fought for your Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina. While many enjoyed freedom and rest in peace, you testified to the truth in all domestic and international courts, which is why you were the subject of attacks and intimidation by the perpetrators of crimes. I ask dear Allah to grant you Paradise and heavenly beauties," Azra Penava wrote on social networks. representative of the families of those killed and missing from "Vranica" in Mostar. Thanks to Saja, the truth, no matter how hard some try, has not and will not be erased. Eternal mercy to her noble soul.
