In memoriam

Samo da sjećanje ne izgubi moć govora So the memory doesn't lose the power of speech

The youngest son of Redžo and Rahima Boloban, Salko, joined the "Green Berets" Konjic unit "KLIS" in April 1992. In his native village of Treboj, he left his father, mother, brother Mujo and sister Fadila, but also his wife Hasna with his sons Saudin and Senaid, and daughter Redžiba. In the whirlwind of war, in 1993, his third son Sedad was born. Although he worked as a foreman on the construction sites of Sarajevo's "Hidrogradnja," Salko Boloban continued to live in his home village where he spent all his free time. The spirit of freedom, however, did not allow him to stay in his village, but together with several of his fellow villagers set out to defend the only homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was the first platoon commander in the "Green Berets", unit "KLIS." From the first day of the war, he was a member of the Territorial Defense of Konjic, later the Army of RBiH, participant in numerous actions, exemplary fighter, extraordinary commander, friend, caring son, brother, husband and father . He died defending positions on July 6, 1995, on one of the battlefields on Mount Treskavica, from a shrapnel grenade.
