Sebastian Lecher

Sebastian was born the son of Peter u Barbara (SCHNEIDER) in the German village of Kleinbetschkerek, Timis, Banat, Hungary. He died in the German village of Neubeschenowa, Timis, Banat, also known in Hungarian as UjBessenjo, which became Dudestii Noi, Timis, Romania as a result of the 1920 Treaty of Trianon at the end of WWI. The second of three children, Sebastian was first married on 13 Feb 1844 to Elisabeth (JAKOBY), born 19 Sep 1821 the daughter of Mathias and Anna (BOLT). Elisabeth gave birth to 7 children, only one of whom, Barbara b 1848, survived to adulthood. Elisabeth died in Neubeschenowa on 4 Mar 1856. Sebastian married Katharina (KUNZELMANN), born 13 Jan 1836, daughter of Nikolaus and Anna (WEBER), on 10 Apr 1856. Katharina was step-mother to Barbara, b 1848, and bore 7 children of her own, only two of whom, Sebastian and Anna survived to adulthood. Katharina died on 7 Sep 1873 in her home in Neubeschenowa.
