In memoriam

On the second day of Ramadan Eid, that is, on Martyrs' Day, on February 10, 1997, a procession of about a thousand Bosniaks led by the Mufti of Mostar Seid ef. Smajkić and Mayor Safet Oručević during their visit to the Liska harem city cemetery (Kantarevac) were brutally attacked by special units, the so-called Herceg-Bosnia. On that occasion, Šefik Sulejmanović was killed, while Mufti Smajkić and Seid-ef. Maksumić were wounded by a firearm, and the chief imam Šefko-ef. Tinjak was beaten with clubs.
