Service No: 357 Regiment/Service: Australian Infantry, A.I.F., 13th Bn. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bio details by Contributor: A Fifer in Exile ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Extract from The Roll of Honour, A Biographical record of all members of His Majesty's Naval and Military Forces who have fallen in the War, by the Marquis de Ruvigny, Volume I., The Standard Art Book Company, Ltd, December, 1916: CAVEY, SIDNEY, Corporal, No. 357, B Company, 13th Battalion 4th Infantry Brigade, Australian Imperial Force, 2nd son of William John Cavey, of 198, Cromwell Road, Peterboro', Farmer, by his wife, Catherine Martha, daughter of John Barker; b. Plumstead, 9 Jan. 1884; educated Woolwich Polytechnic; joined the Bedfordshire Yeomanry in 1906, and rose to the rank of Sergeant He afterwards emigrated to Australia in Feb. 1912, and was engaged in farming when war was declared. He at once joined the Commonwealth Expeditionary Force, and died in hospital at W. Mudros, Lemnos Island, of pneumonia, 11 Oct. 1915. He was buried in the military cemetery there; unmarried.
