Anthropologist, Archaeologist. Spyridon Marinatos was a Greek archaeologist who excavated the Minoan site of Akrotiri on Santorini. He specialised in the Bronze AgeMinoan and Mycenaean civilizations. Among his publications was Kreta, Thera und das mykenische Hellas. He was buried at the Akrotiri archaeological site.
