Stanko Pirog was born in 1898 in Tarnów, Powiat garwoliński, Mazowieckie, Poland. He had 12 children in total with his wife Marija Pitka, six sons and three daughters, unfortunately 3 children died, the circumstances of their death unknown. Stanko worked his farm in Rapćani for a fair amount of his life. His land grant was thought to have been provided by the Austro-Hungarian empire; payment for those who volunteered to move and help build roads and rail in a different country. The land is no longer owned by the Piroh's, likely relinquished to the government when the land owner was killed, and the land being vacant after the war. Stanko was the elder of the village of Rapćani, Bosnia and eventually killed in 1944 fighting for the partisans. Recognizing Stanko's service, his name was added to a list of partisans fighters and displayed on a monument located beside the Agicka Scola, near Derventa, Bosnia.
