In memoriam
Редникъ Стефанъ М. Цоневъ 17. Пех. Полкъ. 21.9.1918
Private serving in the 13th Company, 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 9th Division, Bulgarian Army, he was captured suffering from serious wounds to his leg and head. Born in V'rbitsa, Pleven. The person in the above plot was originally buried in Plot 2 Row A Grave 12 at the nearby British Janes Military Cemetery, which was abandoned because of difficulty in access and maintenance (but see below*). * Red Cross (RC) Prisoner of War records suggest that Stefan Minchev Tsonev Held the rank of Starshi Podofitser and was captured at Dedeli on 24 September 1918, dying later on 4 November 1918. Furthermore, the RC records and a grave registration card circa 1921 produced by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission suggest that the person buried in this plot may be Mara Latov Svetan, who was captured on 19 September 1918 with severe head wounds and died on 21 September 1918.
