Caretaker Prime Minister of Greece 1963, President of the Supreme Court 1963-1968. Born in Mani and descended from the renowned Mavromichalis family. He was nephew of Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis, who was also prime minister. Initially studied law at Athens University and continued his studies in Germany and Switzerland. In 1924 he was appointed associate judge and the following year became a magistrate. In 1936 he became president of First Instance and Appeals Court judge in 1939. In 1946 he entered the Supreme Court of which he was president from 1963 until 1968. He was appointed Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix. On 28th September 1963 he formed a caretaker government, which remained until 8th November of that year, to lead the country to elections.
