Svetozar “Gliga” Gligoric

In memoriam

born Svetozara Gligoriæa in Belgrade, Yugoslavia son of Dragoje and Ljubica Gligoriæa; his wife of 47 years, Danica, died in 1994 A 12 time national chess champion he won many international tournaments remaining competitive into the early 1980s where he met Kasparov. He won 13 medals in the Chess Olympiad for Yugoslavia.
