Gunner McNamara, aged 33, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29 May 1941. He was the son of Thomas Joseph and Beryl Sylvia McNamara, of Mildura, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Mildura Vic, name is located at panel 21 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Thomas Joseph and Beryl Sylvia McNamara, of Mildura, Victoria, Australia.
