Tomasso Brescovich-Coschich was likely a seaman or shipowner who lived in Vrboska and raised his family there. Vrboska is a small village on the Croatia island of Hvar. During Tommaso's time, Vrboska would have been subject to Venetian rule. He married Anastasia (no maiden name available), and they had at least one child together, Nicolo, who was born in the village in 1683. Tommaso died in 1695 in Vrobska at the age of 55; Vrboska records for his year of birth are not available. He was buried "all Madonna," meaning at the church of Blessed Virgin Mary. This is now likely in the area that we call the Fortress of St. Mary.
