Vahidin Musemić was a Bosnian-Herzegovinian professional football player who played as a striker. Musemić was born was born on October 29, 1946 in the town of Janja near Bijeljina. Vahidin Musemić played from 1964-1973 as the leader of the attack in the Sarajevo team and scored 169 goals in a total of 293 games. He started in 1962 in the youth team of Sarajevo, in 1964 he became a first team player and had a rather unfortunate career: four operations, two broken legs, three concussions. As attack leader, Musemić played two games for the youth team (1967-1969) and 17 games with nine goals for the best national team of Yugoslavia. He made his debut on April 6, 1968 against France (1:1) in Marseille, scoring the only goal for Yugoslavia, and he played his last match in the national jersey on October 28, 1970 against the Soviet Union team (0:4) in Moscow. He participated in the 1968 European Championship in Italy, where our national team took second place. He played two seasons in France for the Nice team (1974-1976), and he stopped playing at the age of 29 after a series of serious injuries. His younger brother is Husref Musemić, a former football player of Sarajevo, Crvena zvezda and a football representative of Yugoslavia. Vahidin Musemić died on June 30, 2023 in Sarajevo and was buried at the Stadion city cemetery in Sarajevo.
