In memoriam
Major Vasile Niculescu is one of the most famous Romanian aviators, nicknamed "Union Aviator". On November 23, 1918, he made a flight with his Farman F.40 over the Carpathians, landing on the Freedom Plain of Blaj in Transylvania to symbolically carry a message from the Romanian Government to the Romanian National Council.
