In memoriam

Veronica Maddalena Devlahovich was baptized on 12 October 1870 at St. Stephen (Sv. Stjepana) Roman Catholic Church in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar in what is now Croatia. She was born there on 7 October to Yakov David (Giacomo Devlahovich) and Vica (Vincenza) Bertapelle/Bruttapelle. She had a total of 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She was likely named after her maternal aunt, Veronika Bertapelle (Vera Berry/Bruttapelle). Infant Veronica passed away on 26 October 1870 and was buried the same day. Note: Both Veronica's baptism and death records are available at Croatia's Archives in Zagreb.
