Greek: Βλαδίμηρος Κολοκοτρώνης Distinguished army officer. Served in the Balkan wars, World War I and the disastrous Asia Minor expedition. During WWI he suffered irreparable lung damage as a result of a German mustard gas attack on the Macedonian front. He was promoted to the rank of major general in 1930. Although married, he died childless and is believed to have been the last direct male descendant of his great-grandfather, Theodoros Kolokotronis , to whom he bore a striking resemblance. It is claimed, however, that there are still descendantants of Theodoros' youngest son Panos (born out of wedlock, but legally recognised by his father).
