Vukosava “Vuka” Roksic (née Milovanovic) was born on December 10, 1913 in Boljevci, Serbia to father Petar “Pera” and mother Katarina (née Gavrilovic). Along with her native Serbian, she was also fluent in Slovak. She had a brother named Krsta and her cousin was Branko Pesic who was Mayor of Belgrade from 1964 to 1974. Vukosava and her husband Milenko Roksic had two children together: Olga (1934–1970) and Nadezda (1936–2015). Vukosava Roksic is interred together with her husband Milenko in the Roksic family plot in the Orthodox Christian Cemetery in Boljevci.
