Gunner Fuery, aged 22, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29 May 1941. He was the son of Wallace George and Linda Agnes Fuery, of Heidelberg, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10.
