Walter is also remembered on the family grave stone at Hampstead Cemetery in London, description is as below. Please note that his age at death on the family gravestone is recorded as 40 years, whereas on the CWGC website record it is 39 years. 'In loving memory of William Dalgleish died… 1898. Also of Thomas Dalgleish, brother of the above died… In his 85th year. In loving memory of our dear mother Ann, wife of the above William Dalgleish who passed away… Aged 78. Walter Edward Dalgleish, youngest son of above, in his 40th year, having given his life for his country in the Great War 1914–1918. Burial place unknown'.
