Corporal Kirkpatrick, aged 27, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 28 May 1941. He was the son of James and Catherine Isabelle Kirkpatrick, of Preston, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in NORTHCOTE Vic, also his name is located at panel 33 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of James and Catherine Isabelle Kirkpatrick, of Preston, Victoria, Australia.
