Private, Royal Berkshire Regiment. Age: 35. 17508 Private William Cornellius Nobes, Died of Wounds received in action, Aged 35, on the 3rd.May 1917, while serving in 'B'Coy of the 7th. Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. Son of John and Maria Nobes, of Bishopstone, Wiltshire. Husband of Ellen Nobes born 6-2-1881, died 19-12-1917. Father of Dorothy Beatrice Ellen Ruth (b.12-8-1905), Rosie Fay May (b.31-8-1908), Violet Irene Gwendoline (b.17-3-1911) and Daisy Margaret (b.10-2-1915) cared for by their Guardian Alice Taylor.
