Lance Corporal Briggs, aged 27, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 28 May 1941. He was the son of William and Emily Jane Briggs, of Malvern, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Malvern Vic, also his name is located at panel 33 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
