SADLY MISSED BY WIFE AND HIS TWO CHILDREN

27247 Private William James Morteboys, Died of Wounds received in action on the 24th.December 1916, Aged 33, while serving with the 7th.Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. Husband of Sarah Ann Morteboys (b.17-7-1883), and father to Hannah Lilian (2-9-1912) and William (b.15-1-1915) of (No. 2 back) 155, Cromwell St., Nechells, Birmingham. William was originally buried in Janes Military Cemetery, a few miles to the north of Sarigol, exhumed and reburied in Sarigol sometime during 1921-22.
