Corporal 9554 Royal Fusiliers 3rd Bn. The son of Frederick and Esther McGuinness, he was a certified schoolteacher who lived at 85 James Street, Frenchwood, Preston. Missing and presumed killed while serving in Bulgaria. William McGuinness was accepted as a casualty of war on 27 April 2023 following research by In From the Cold Project, and he is now commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
