Pvt. William Womack was the son of William Womack, born ca. 1863 in Manchester, Lancashire, England and died ca. 1894 in Manchester, Lancashire, England. His mother, Eliza Kirk was born abt. 1860 in Hulme, Lancashire, England and died 11 Aug 1903 in Cohlton, Manchester, Lancashire, England. She married first George Frederick Cooper 27 Oct 1883 in Manchester, St James, Lancashire, England. Eliza (nee Kirk) Cooper married second William Womack on 19 Aug 1894 in Hulme, St Mary, Manchester, England. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Womack and Sarah Warrington. His maternal grandparents were John Fox and Mary Vaughan. Pvt. William Womack lost his life while serving in World War I in the Third Battle of Doiran. His name is listed on the Doiran Memorial.
