Naim ef. Hadžiabdić - Bosniak theologian, the ninth reis-ul-ulema in the period of SFR Yugoslavia. He is the author of Ilmihal, a religious textbook that has been used in schools for decades. Naim ef. Hadžiabdić was born in Prusac on May 18, 1918. Hadžiabdić was appointed as the chief imam of the Bugojno and Travnik sections, and in 1963 he was elected president of the Elders of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a position he held until 1975. With reis-ul-ulema Sulejman ef. Kemura participates in the restoration of "Đulaga's Palace" for the needs of Gazi Husrev-bey's madrasa and the realization of the Faculty of Islamic Theology. After the death of reis-ul-ulema Kemura, he was first elected as acting reis-ul-ulema and then, at the session in Belgrade, on March 22, 1975, as the only candidate for the supreme head of the Islamic Community in SFR Yugoslavia. The ceremonial enthronement and handing over of the mensura took place on May 18, 1975 in the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque in Sarajevo. At the head of the Islamic community in SFR Yugoslavia, Naim ef. Hadžiabdić was 12 years old. During his time, significant results were achieved, including the opening of the Faculty of Islamic Theology (now the Faculty of Islamic Sciences) in Sarajevo, the opening of the Isa Bey Madrasah in Skopje, and the construction of the Zagreb Mosque in Zagreb. He died on July 3, 1987. He was buried three days later in the harem of the Gazi Husrev Bey mosque in Sarajevo, alongside his predecessor and close associate Sulejman ef. Kemura.
