Count Sámuel Ferenc Teleki de Szék was born on October 30, 1817, as the fourth child and only son of count Ferenc Teleki de Szék and baroness Erzsébet Bánffy de Losoncz. He died in Kolozsvár, Kolozs cttus, Transylvania, Kingdom of Hungary (now: Cluj Napoca, Cluj, Romania) at the age of 62. His ashes are buried in the Teleki family burial vault in Sáromberke (now Dumbravioara, Mures, Romania)
