Interred At Lemnos Also THOMAS MAXWELL, Son Of The Above Who Died 30th July 1973, Aged 78 Years. Also Their Son ROBERT MAXWELL, Died 16th May 1984, Aged 79 Years.

August 1914: The Battalion was in Lucknow, India. They returned to the UK via Egypt and then sailed for Gallipoli, landing at Cape Helles in April 1915. William died of wounds on board the Hospital Ship "Ascania". Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914-1919 Died of Wounds on 5 June 1915 and buried in East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos, Greece. My father was named after Willie and I was named after John.
